How to Have the Perfect Morning Routine

How you start your day sets the tone for how successful you will be at tackling your to-do list and accomplishing goals that day. Having a good morning routine is essential to becoming the best version of yourself! Many of the morning actives we are trained to think are vital and holding us back! Here is a list of 10 things that should and should not be a part of your morning routine!

1. Put your phone down. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up your phone? Scroll through social media? Check your emails? It’s okay. I am guilty of this too. Take control of your day by controlling what you are exposed to first thing in the morning. Your phone can expose you to stressful triggers the take away your peace before you’ve gotten out of bed.


2. Eat something healthy. Even if you are not a breakfast person, try to start your day by fueling your body with quality. This means replacing the frosted pastry for a banana!


3. Coffee should never be the first thing in your body! Though we have been taught to believe that we can’t think without coffee, ingesting it first thing in the morning has adverse long term effects. Try to drink a glass of fruit-infused water and a light snack before taking down the pot of coffee!


4.Change what you do right before bed. An important part of having a good morning is resting your mind before bed. Be intentional about how you choose to spend your last moments of the day instead of zoning out in front of the TV every night. Instead, try journaling, creating the next day’s to-do list, reading, or meditating.
