5 Socially Distant Activities to Do with Friends

5 Socially Distant Activities to Do with Friends

Interacting with others in your peer group and being outdoors is very important in maintaining good mental health. Quarantine has had us trapped indoors for so long. Many people are eager to hang out but are unsure of what social distance activities to do. Here are five things you can plan to do with your friends this month as we ease out of lockdown.

1.Join an Outdoor Workout Class

Did you forget about your summer body while being trapped in the house? You are NOT alone. Now that warm weather is kicking in, it's a perfect time to start a new outdoor workout routine. This can be as simple as going for a walk 6-feet apart or joining a fitness group that meets at a park. Many instructors and trainers are transitioning their courses outdoors to comply with social distancing guidelines. Invite your friends so that it'll be more fun, and you'll have someone to hold you accountable.

2. Throw a Netflix Party

Though many parts of the country have approved tiny gatherings, many people are still taking extra precautions. Netflix Party is a great new website that allows you to watch your favorite tv shows and movies with your friends. It even has a chat room feature so everyone can stay connected!

3. Join a Virtual Book Club

Many people find themselves in search of new hobbies because they have excess time. One great hobby to pick up is reading! Joining a virtual book club is a great way to escape reality for a little or learn a new skill with friends! The Bougie Business Bunch has a book club meeting via Zoom every Thursday! We always have a good time in our club meetings, and our members learn so much in other daily events.

4. Online Cooking Class

Joining an online cooking class with your friends is a tasty way to interact with people and get some new recipes under your belt. Aren't you all tired of cooking the same four meals every week? Plus, they usually encourage a bottle of wine, or two!

5. Have a picnic

Picnics are a staple activity during the summer, that can be done while trying to keep your distance. Invite as many friends as you'd like to a local park with a field or relatively empty parking lot. You all can bring your own food and set up separate blankets/chair stations. This lunch date can take it to the next level using speakers to play music and start a party!
